How many Chicago pumpkin patches did you visit this fall? 🙂 If you live nearby, I highly recommend Sonny Acres Farm, which I reviewed last year.
We recently checked out and fell in love with another farm: Harvest Tyme. Located in Northwest Indiana, very close to the Illinois state line, Harvest Tyme features a variety of fun opportunities for children and adults alike, such as hayrides, pumpkin patch & corn mazes, a petting zoo, and a carousel.

We were invited to visit the farm at night for the Pumpkin Glow Trail, which could be described as a symphony of glowing lights along a half-mile walking trail filled with jack-o-lanterns. The event takes place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays now through October 25.
The experience includes over 1000 characters and large displays of festive, colorful lights – over a million small LED bulbs in total (wow!)

There are specialty hand-carved jack-o-lanterns along the lighted paths, featuring beloved childhood favorites, from Disney and Nickelodeon superheroes to traditional Halloween characters.

The petting zoo was one of the highlights of our experience. Our children loved seeing the animals and feeding them. The goats were the sweetest, and they didn’t mind constant petting by our son 🙂

Meanwhile, our daughter loved the stylish pinkalicious ghost statues, whose glam appearance was replete with the fanciest details and accessories:

We thoroughly enjoyed hopping on to the carousel and checking out our surroundings by the sounds of fair music and the swift movement of the ride. I took a few pics – not enough, it seems! A treasured memory I will cherish forever:

Some of the Halloween displays were so, so spookilicious. Look at this giant spider made of pumpkins of all sizes!

Other displays were “spooky cute”…

…and so much fun! Anyone interested in learning how to ride a broomstick? 🙂

The combined pumpkin & dinosaur section of the trail was another highlight of our experience. The glowing path brought charm and magic into our hearts, with just the right amount of spine-tingling sounds (the dinosaurs were awake!)

We didn’t check out the concession stands, but you are welcome to read the menu on the Harvest Tyme website. The offerings sound delicious!

We spent a wonderful evening at Harvest Tyme enjoying the spookilicious seasonal displays and making lasting family memories. I recommend checking out this location both during the daytime and at night. We plan to go back soon for more leisurely enjoyment of seasonal beauty. Nostalgia, love, togetherness – these are the best human emotions of all, imo 🙂
