Halloween product suggestions

Happy Halloween! We seem to love our Halloween celebrations 🙂 According to the US National Retail Federation’s annual consumer survey, consumers are expected to spend a record-breaking $13.1 billion on candy, costumes, and decorations this year. That’s up from last year’s $12.2 billion, with participation also reaching new highs: nearly 75% of Americans plan to celebrate. Gen Z and Millennials “are fueling growth through bigger social gatherings, trick-or-treating, and themed experiences” (candyusa.com)

I’ll be celebrating with an abundance of treats, including these baked chocolate doughnuts I made using Ann Clark’s chocolate cake doughnut baking mix from their new holiday product line-up. I powdered these with activated charcoal, my go-to ingredient for Halloween decoration & baking.

I have included a pic of the doughnuts without decoration, too – they are so soft and light, with the perfect crumb and the most enticing depth of chocolate flavor. I love dunking these in milk and seeing the milk turn black. The magic of Halloween, oh yess!

You may remember me collaborating with Ann Clark before here, here, here and here. New products from Ann Clark’s Halloween 2025 line-up include:

  • Creepy & Cute Cookie Cutters – The Halloween 5-pc set has all the popular shapes for the season: pumpkins, ghosts, bats, black cats, and witch hats – perfect for decorating parties or customized Trick-or-Treat goodies

  • Festive Baking Mixes – Easy-to-use mixes for cookies & baked goods can be dressed up with Halloween sprinkles or frosting for a quick themed dessert

  • Seasonal Flavorings – New hazelnut, rum, and maple flavorings add autumnal flavors that add cozy warmth to cookies, cakes, and festive drinks.

You are welcome to check out my previous Halloween posts with recipe suggestions here and here. An in-depth coverage of activated charcoal can be found here.

Do you have a favorite Halloween treat? Let me know in the comments 🙂
