We are enjoying the long weekend and celebrating Memorial Day tomorrow, and I am marking the occasion by baking my favorite quick dessert: cookies. I have been using Ann Clark’s original sugar cookie recipe and their cookie cutters made in the USA , including the thought-provoking forget-me-not shape from the Vault Collection. I love forget-me-nots, and I wanted to get some from the garden center to complement the cookies in the frame, but they were out. Such ephemeral beauty, like spring itself… 
These cookies were sprinkled with spirulina and powdered freeze-dried strawberries. Quick to make and to decorate, these versatile, delicate, buttery treats are the perfect choice for busy days and important celebrations, imo.
